Asian Zonal 3.2 Chess Championship begins tomorrow

Dhaka, 10 March - The Asian Zonal 3.2 Chess Championship, open and women's championships, qualifying of the World Cup Chess and Women's World Cup begins in Colombo, Sri Lanka Tuesday.

A total of 12 players from Bangladesh are participating in the open and 
women's sections. National champion international master Manon Reja Neer, 
national runner-up international master Mohammad Fahad Rahman, FIDE master 
Tahsin Tajwar Zia, FIDE master Sakline Mostafa Sajid, FIDE master Syed 
Mahfuzur Rahman, Tanvir Alam and Kazi Afsan Rawnak Anan are participating in 
the open section and woman FIDE master Noshin Anjum, woman international 
master Rani Hamid, woman FIDE master Wadifa Ahmed and Ashiya Sultana are 
taking part in the woman section.

The champion of the open division will have the opportunity to participate in 
the World Cup Chess and the champion of the women's division will have the 
opportunity to participate in the Women's World Cup.
 
It is also possible to directly achieve the titles of international master, 
woman international master, fide master, woman fide master, candidate master 
and woman candidate master and the norms of international master and women's 
international master from zonal chess.
 
Both categories will be held in a nine round Swiss-League system.BSS
