Dhaka, 11 Apr -Shaheed Mir Mugdho smrity day-long open rapid rating chess competition was held at hall room of Bangladesh Chess Federation (BCF) on Friday, said a press release.

Uttara Central Chess Club founder president and BCF member Rahat Hossain 
formally inaugurated the meet as the chief gust.

Tournament Director Rafiqul Islam Shaheen and FIDE arbiter Tariqul Imlam 
Tarek, former national women's champion woman FIDE Master Tanima Parveen, 
FIDE arbiter Kazi Taherul Islam and Uttara Central Chess ClubMostafa Haider 
were also present in the opening ceremony. 

Apart from the top rated players, 184 chess players from across the country 
took part in nine round of the meet, jointly organized by Niyamul Chess 
Academy, New York and Uttara Central Chess Club with the entire cooperation 
of BCF.BSS
