The prevailing severe heat wave condition over the country is likely to continue.



The prevailing severe heat wave condition over the country is likely to continue for next two days, according to a met office forecast released on Saturday (June 3) evening.

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said in the forecast for the next 24 hours, the trough of westerly low lies over West Bengal and adjoining area. As a result, rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.

Meanwhile, severe heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Rajshahi, Naogaon, Nilphamary and Dinajpur. Mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna & Barishal divisions and the rest parts of Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions and the districts of Moulvibazar, Chandpur and Noakhali and it may continue.

The Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
