Light to moderate rainfall in all eight divisions

BMD Wednesday predicted light to moderate rainfall in all eight divisions in next 24 hours from 9am today, as monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh.

"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Chattogram and Sylhet divisions; at a few places over Khulna, Barishal and Mymensingh divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Rangpur and Dhaka divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country," said a met release issued this morning.

However, the day temperature may rise slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Country's maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded 35.2 degrees Celsius at Jashore, while today's minimum temperature was 25.0 degrees Celsius jointly at Kutubdia, Teknaf and Bandarban in Chattogram division and at Nikli in Dhaka division.

The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded 50 mm at Dimla in Rangpur division.

The sun sets at 6:05pm Wednesday and rises at 5:44am Thursday in the capital.
