US President Joe Biden will not attend a major United Nations climate summit in Dubai, known as COP28, The New York Times reported citing a White House official.

The official did not give a reason US president will not make an appearance at the two-week summit.

According to Kirsten Allen, a spokeswoman for Vice President, Kamala Harris has no plans to attend COP28 either.

John Kerry, Biden's special envoy for climate change, will represent the US in Dubai.

The 2023 UN Climate Change Conference will convene from November 30 to December 12 in Dubai, reports BSS.
