Winter loosens grip on northern Bangladesh, warmer days ahead

However, winter has loosened its grip on the region since January 28, and the met office says temperatures will see an increase in the ares.

The lowest temperature on Wednesday was recorded at 12.6°C in Thakurgaon, 13.3°C in Lalmonirhat, 13.3°C in Gaibandha, 11.1°C in Nilphamari, 11.1°C in Dinajpur, 12.7°C in Kurigram, 9.3°C in Panchagarh's Tetulia and 13.4°C in Rangpur.

The lowest temperature in almost all these districts was below 10°C on Tuesday.

The chief meteorologist for Rangpur division, Mostafizur Rahman, said: “Temperatures will continue to rise till February 3. There will be only clouds in the sky and no chance of rain in areas around Dinajpur.”
