Rain-thunder showers with lightning flashes likely Saturday

Dhaka, May 13 -- The weather department has predicted showers across Bangladesh in the next 24 hours.

“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country,” the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said on Friday.

Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

The maximum rainfall was recorded in Dinajpur of Rangpur division at 201 mm and in Sylhet at 126 mm in the past 24 hours, as per the bulletin.

Meanwhile, the Low Pressure Area over coastal Andaman Pradesh and adjoining area moved westwards and became unimportant. Trough of westerly low lies over West Bengal and adjoining area, it added. - News Desk with UNB
