At least 30 people were killed and 18 wounded on Thursday when a Russian guided bomb exploded near passenger buses at a bus stop in Kramatorsk, Donetsk region, as Russia intensified attacks ahead of winter and power outages worsened in Kyiv.

Kramatorsk military administration chief Oleksandr Honcharenko said Russian forces were targeting civilians and that rescue operations were hampered by subsequent drone attacks. Public transport was suspended in the area.

The strike came a day after Russian missile attacks on Pryluky killed 22 people, including five children, and wounded at least 54 others.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that Russia could increase missile and drone attacks ahead of winter and urged NATO countries to provide additional air-defense systems, ammunition and interceptor support.

Meanwhile, energy company DTEK said emergency power outages had been ordered in Kyiv, separately from scheduled nationwide outages. Authorities urged families to prepare emergency supplies in case of prolonged blackouts.

Elsewhere, Yandex said a Ukrainian drone damaged a data centre in Ryazan. Ukraine also claimed it had struck a major oil refinery in Salavat, while Turkey proposed measures to protect shipping in the Black Sea.

Lithuania, meanwhile, deployed about 100 additional troops near its border with Russia's Kaliningrad region.
