Iran’s new defence minister warns US against ‘another miscalculation’

Mehrdad Akhlaghi Ketabchi made the remarks after securing a vote of confidence in the Iranian parliament and becoming the country’s new defence minister.

“If the American enemy commits another miscalculation, the response from the proud Iranian nation and the warriors of Islam will be both surprising and extensive,” he said.

“The regional and global consequences will rest solely upon the terrorist US government and its allies, reports AL Jazeera.

“Since the 12-day war, defensive capabilities have been refined and updated to such an extent that they have altered the enemy’s assessments and calculations.”
