Chattogram, May 16 - A domestic dispute in Raozan upazila of Chattogram turned fatal last night when a man was allegedly stabbed by his elder brother. The victim, identified as 46-year-old Sohag Mia of Khanpara village, succumbed to his injuries at Chattogram Medical College Hospital around 10 pm.

According to Mohammad Rokon Uddin, the Union Parishad Chairman, the conflict erupted over a family issue between Sohag Mia and his elder brother, Sona Mia, at their residence. The altercation escalated, leading Sona Mia to allegedly stab his younger brother, critically injuring him. Family members witnessed the incident.

Following the stabbing, Sohag Mia was urgently transported to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The clash also resulted in injuries to six to seven other family members, who are now receiving treatment at the Upazila Health Complex.

Jahid Hossain, Officer-in-Charge at Raozan Police Station, confirmed the incident and stated that Sona Mia’s wife, daughter, and daughter-in-law have been detained in connection with the stabbing, although Sona Mia himself has fled. Authorities are currently preparing to file a lawsuit regarding the incident.-UNB
