Pakistan’s military has claimed to have shot down five Indian jets, including three French-made Rafale fighter aircraft, inside Indian airspace on Wednesday.

In a statement, military spokesman Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry stated, "In response to enemy aggression, the Pakistan Army has successfully downed five jets and one combat drone. These aircraft attacked Pakistani territory."

The downed aircraft reportedly include three Rafale fighters, one MiG-29, and one Sukhoi jet, Chaudhry added.

Tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors have escalated in recent days, with both sides accusing each other of military provocations.
