Several killed in Russian rocket attack on Odesa – apt block hit

Anton Herashchenko, adviser to the Ukrainian interior minister, says Russian forces have fired at least six cruise missiles at Odesa. According to him, one of the rockets hit a building.

TV 2’s team in the city has heard explosions. It came from both Russian rocket attacks and from air defense systems, reports California18.

– We have heard many explosions on the outskirts of the city center, which have probably hit the outskirts of the city. The attacks are ongoing, and the authorities have not yet issued an official statement, says journalist Sonja Skeistrand Sunde.

Shortly afterwards, TV 2 stands by a residential area that has been affected. A 17-storey apartment block has been affected. The smoke is out, and there is a massive emergency response from ambulances.

Several rocket attacks have been confirmed in several places in the city, but the local authorities will not elaborate on either where in Odesa, or how many rockets there are. According to unconfirmed information, it is said that between 7-8 missiles that are said to have fired a little at Odesa, but probably several of these have been shot down.

People in the area are afraid to pose for a camera, but say that the attack came as a shock.

– We thought the father was over. We were preparing for the Easter holiday, which we will celebrate tomorrow. we had even put away the first aid equipment that we have had ready. It’s incredibly scary what’s happening, says another young woman who lives in the area to TV 2. Tears roll down her cheeks.
