The government has instructed the mosques not to use air conditioners in a bid to save electricity amid global fuel crisis.



The government has instructed the mosques not to use air conditioners in a bid to save electricity amid global fuel crisis.
The decision was taken at a meeting held at the PMO on Monday.
Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury, energy adviser to the Prime Minister, said area-based load shedding for two hours each day will be introduced.
Shops and markets must be closed at 8pm daily.  Petrol pumps will also be remained closed for a day every week in a bid to tackle the ongoing power and energy crisis.
Punitive actions will be taken if anyone avoids the instructions, according to the decision taken by the Prime Minister's Office, he also said.
