2 restaurants fined Tk 1.5 lakh in DMP drive

A mobile court of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) fined two restaurants a combined Tk 1.5 lakh .



Dhaka, Jan 9 :  A mobile court of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) fined two restaurants a combined Tk 1.5 lakh for preparing food in an unhealthy environment by conducting raids in Kalabagan and Kataban areas of the capital on Sunday.

DMP Executive Magistrate Dr. Sanjeev Das conducted the mobile court as part of the DMP's special drives at Alam Restaurant of Kalabagan thana area and Ashta Banjan Restaurant in Kataban area.

During the simultaneous drives started from 12:00 pm, the mobile court fined Alam Restaurant of Tk 1.25 lakh for not showing registration, not labeling the prepared yoghurt and firni and preparing food in unhealthy environment, while Tk 25,000 to Ashta Banjan Restaurant for preparing food in unhealthy environment.

The mobile court was conducted in coordination with Shahbagh Police station, Dhaka South City Corporation and Safe Food Authority, reports UNB.
