Public Prosecutor Advocate Md Fazlul Haque confirmed the judgment. At the time of the verdict, Bulbul and Ruku were absconding.

According to the prosecution, the victim, the second wife of her husband used to run a tea stall in front of Shah Jamal Mazar in the town. The accused had long been making indecent proposals to her.
