A court in Chattogram has sentenced a man and his three sons to life term imprisonment in a case filed over hacking his own brother.



A court in Chattogram has sentenced a man and his three sons to life term imprisonment in a case filed over hacking his own brother Nurul Kobir to death following a family feud in Lohagara upazila of the district on June 12, 1999.
The court also fined them Tk20,000 each or in default they will have to serve two years more in jail.
Chattogram’s 3rd Additional District and Sessions Judge Ferdous Wahid handed down the verdict on Monday (July 25).
The convicts are the deceased’s brother Nurul Islam and Nurul Islam’s sons Osman Goni, Sarwar Kamal and Abbas Uddin.
The court also acquitted Nurul Islam’s wife Monwara Begum and daughter Nasima Akter.
Trial in the murder case began after framing charges against six accused on January 13, 2003.
