Sacked DIG (Prisons) Bazlur seeks acquittal from jail term

Suspended Deputy Inspector General (Prisons) Bazlur Rashid, who was jailed for five years for amassing Tk 3.14 crore.



Suspended Deputy Inspector General (Prisons) Bazlur Rashid, who was jailed for five years for amassing Tk 3.14 crore beyond known sources of income, filed an appeal on Wednesday seeking acquittal from his punishment given by a trial court.
He, at the same time, sought bail with the High Court bench of Md Ashraful Kamal.
A hearing on the patition will be held later on the day.
