Militant snatching: `Key coordinator` Rafi lands in jail

Mehedi Hasan Ami alias Rafi, a "key coordinator" behind the snatching of two convicted militants from police custody, was sent to jail after two days of remand.



Mehedi Hasan Ami alias Rafi, a "key coordinator" behind the snatching of two convicted militants from police custody, was sent to jail after two days of remand.

Metropolitan Magistrate Ashek Imam passed the order on Thursday (December 8).

Muhammad Abul Kalam Azad, investigation officer and inspector of the Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) Unit produced the accused before the court and pleaded to keep him behind bars.

Earlier on November 24, the court granted four days of remand for him first. Later, he was put four-day remand on December 2.
