A Dhaka court has granted bail to BNP leader, Ishraque Hossain, who was arrested last year in a case filed over setting a vehicle on fire in the Motijheel area of the capital.

Ishraque Hossain surrendered in the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka seeking bail while Magistrate Arfatul Rakib granted him bail after a hearing on Sunday.

Advocate Masud Ahmed Talukdar moved his bail petitioner.

On December 5 last year, a court in Dhaka issued an arrest warrant rejecting his bail plea.

Earlier, an FIR (First Information Report) was lodged against 42 people in connection with vandalizing and torching vehicles on November 12 of 2020. Ishraque Hossain was made an accused in the case. - Special Correspondent
