Prof Dr Abul Bashar Mohammad Khurshid Alam, director general (DG) of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), has sought an unconditional apology to the High Court (HC).



Prof Dr Abul Bashar Mohammad Khurshid Alam, director general (DG) of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), has sought an unconditional apology to the High Court (HC) for his failure to implement the directive to appoint 48 doctors to the vacant posts in the prisons of the country.
He sought the apology to the HC bench comprising Justice KM Kamrul Kader and Justice Mohammad Ali on Tuesday (January 24).
Earlier on January 17, the HC bench comprising Justice KM Kamrul Kader and Justice Mohammad Ali summoned the DG of DGHS to appear before it on January 24 to explain the reason behind not implementing the directive to appoint 48 doctors to the vacant posts in the prisons of the country.
Earlier on December 13 last year, the HC bench of Justice KM Kamrul Kader and Justice Mohammad Ali directed the health secretary, the secretary of the Security Services Division under the home ministry and the prison authorities to fill up the vacant posts by January 7.
