Ex-Speaker Jamiruddin Sircar fined over Tk 27 lakh

A court in Dhaka on Monday has fined Tk 27,86,364 to former Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Barrister Muhammad Jamiruddin Sircar on charge of embezzling money.



A court in Dhaka on Monday has fined Tk 27,86,364 to former Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Barrister Muhammad Jamiruddin Sircar on charge of embezzling money.
Dhaka's Special Judge Court-7 Judge Pradeep Kumar Roy fined him the money on March 6.
Confirming the matter on Monday, Jamiruddin’s lawyer Hannan Bhuiyan said he will pay the money today.
On December 28, 2010, the Anti-Corruption Commission's (ACC) deputy director Md Moniruzzaman and deputy assistant director SM Khabiruddin filed five separate cases with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station against four people including Speaker Jamiruddin.
