Court decision

City Bank Chairman Aziz Al Kaiser got bail today, four days after being sent to the jail in three fraud cases filed by his wife Tabassum Kaiser in December last year.

Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Jasim of Dhaka CMM Court passed the order after Aziz's lawyer Saidur Rahman Manik moved three separate petitions seeking bail in the cases.

The prosecution, however, opposed the petitions saying that if the accused gets bail he will tamper with the investigation of the cases and flee from the country.

On March 16, the same court sent Aziz to the jail after rejecting his bail petitions in the cases filed with Tejgaon Industrial Police Station.

Tabassum Kaiser, also one of the directors of Partex Star Particles Mills Limited, filed the three separate fraud cases on December 28 last year.

According to the case statements, it was alleged that Aziz and board of directors held a board meeting in absence of Tabassum Kaiser.

The accused forged her signature and transferred all her shares of Partex Group in his name, she added in the case docket. - Special Correspondent
