A father on Thursday filed a case with a court in Chattogram against his son on charges of threatening to kill him and occupy his properties.

The father--75-year-old Abul Mozaffar--a resident of Charmba Maijbhila area under Lohagara upazila, filed the case, said his lawyer Zia Habib.

The father also accused the son of not providing his living cost, the lawyer said.

The case was filed at the court of Chattogram Senior Judicial Magistrate Begum Farzana Yasmin, and the magistrate took the allegations into cognizance. Subsequently, the magistrate asked the officer-in-charge of Satkania police station to investigate the matter, the lawyer said.

The court, however, didn’t set any deadline to submit the investigation report, the counsel said.

According to the case statement, 45-year-old son Md Yeasin illegally occupied his father’s land, houses and other properties in 2014.

The accused also threatened his father to kill unless he would hand over his all belongings in writing while he took over Tk 3 lakh from his father.

Yeasin allegedly took away his father's lands using fake signature while the victim was undergoing treatment following a road accident on October 9, 2016, according to the case documents.

The son’s version about the allegations was not immediately available.
