Hefazat leader Mamunul Haque secures bail in 5 cases

The High Court (HC) granted bail to Mamunul Haque, the former joint secretary general of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh in five separate cases .



The High Court (HC) granted bail to Mamunul Haque, the former joint secretary general of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh, in five separate cases filed with the capital’s Paltan and Chattogram’s Hathazari Police Stations.
An HC bench of Justice Mostafa Jaman Islam and Justice Aminul Islam passed the bail order on Wednesday (May 3).
Adv Helal Uddin Mollah stood for Mamunul while Deputy Attorney General Shahin Ahmed Khan argued on behalf of the state during the hearing in the court.
Adv Helal Uddin Mollah, at least 17 people were killed during violence in Chattogram’s Hathazari and Brahmanbari following clashes in Dhaka’s Baitul Mokarram on March 26, 2021. A rule was issued with the High Court over Mamunul’s bail in five cases--four at Paltan and one at Hathazari.
The HC today granted the bail after hearing on the rule.
But Mamunul Haque was wanted in some other cases. For this, he will not be released from jail right now.
