5 to walk gallows for killing housewife Monira
A court in Dhaka has sentenced five people to death for killing Monira Parvin, a newly married woman in Khilkhet.
A court in Dhaka has sentenced five people to death for killing Monira Parvin, a newly married woman in Khilkhet.
Judge Begum Mafroza Parvin of Women and Children Tribunal- 8 of Dhaka delivered the judgment on Thursday (May 18).
The convicted persons are – Masud, Hasina Milon, Delwar Hossain, and Din Islam.
According to the case statement, the victim left home to buy some medicine around 5:00pm on June 18 in 2013, and went missing. Later, the family members of her came to know that she got married with Nasir Hossain. However, the family members of Nasir Hossain assaulted Monira centering the marriage issue, leaving her injured critically. Later, she died under treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on June 22.
On June 22, Monira’s father filed a murder case with Khilkhet police station mentioning 11 names.
