10 get life terms for killing youth in Pabna

A Pabna Court on Wednesday sentenced ten people to life term imprisonment for killing a 19-year-old youth in Pabna's Bhangura upazila .

Pabna, Nov 17 : A Pabna Court on Wednesday sentenced ten people to life term imprisonment for killing a 19-year-old youth in Pabna's Bhangura upazila in 2009.

 The lifers, along with their age at the time of the crime, are: Pravash Chandra Das, 18, Shahin Hossain, 21, Shafiqul Islam, 21, Saddam Hossain, 20, Abdul Karim, 45, Prince, 20, Farid Ahmed, 22, Bilkis Begum, 40, Yusuf Ali, 22, and Dulal Hossain, 20. All are residents of Choubaria area of the upazila.

 Pabna Special District and Sessions Judge Ahsan Tareq handed down the verdict.

 According to the case, Md Faruk Hossain of the village, was called out by someone on the night of August 24, 2009. Later, he was found dead.

 Following the incident, the victim's mother Anwara Begum filed a complaint accusing 18-20 people. Police submitted the charge-sheet accusing 10 people, reports UNB.
