Evaly CEO Rassel released from jail

E-commerce platform Evaly Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Md Rassel has been released from jail.

He walked out of Kashimpur Central Jail-1 in Gazipur on Monday afternoon, Jailer Md Tariqul Islam said on Tuesday afternoon.

He said Rasel was released after all documents related to his bail in all the cases reached the jail.

Earlier on September 16 of 2021, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Rassel and his wife Shamima Nasrin, also the Chairman of the e-commerce platform, in a fraud case.

On September 15 of the same year, a man filed the case with Gulshan Police Station accusing them of swindling money.

Subsequently, several cases were filed against them in different places of the country for

allegedly cheating customers.

Earlier, on Saturday a Dhaka court issued a travel ban on Evaly Chairman Shamima Nasrin and Managing Director Md Rassel.
