The Dhaka Cyber Tribunal today set July 24 for hearing on whether to accept a supplementary charge-sheet filed against BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman in a case filed under now replaced Digital Security Act (DSA) for declaring his father Ziaur Rahman as father of the nation.

Judge AM Julfikar Hayat of the cyber tribunal passed the order on Tuesday, Bench Assistant Jewel Miah told the media.

On December 2, 2023, Investigation Officer Sub-Inspector Hasanuzzaman of the Detective Branch submitted the supplementary charge sheet.

According to the charge sheet, the BNP leader at a party meeting, declared Ziaur Rahman father of the nation and gave weird logics behind this. His aim was to destabilize the stable situation prevailing in the country, the charge sheet said.
