Relatives of the victims of the 2009 Pilkhana massacre filed a complaint on Thursday with the International Crimes Tribunal, demanding justice for those responsible.

The complaint submitted by Advocate Uday Tasmeer, named 58 people, including ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, former Army Chief Moeen U Ahmed and former Prime Minister’s Security Adviser Tarique Siddique.

Family members of the martyred army officers, including Major General Shakil Ahmed’s son Rakin Ahmed, Colonel Mujibur Haque’s wife Ferdousi and Colonel Kudrat Elahi’s son Sakib Rahman, were among those present during the filing.

The Pilkhana tragedy occurred on February 25, 2009, when mutinous members of the then-Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) attacked their Headquarters in Dhaka, leading to the brutal killing of 57 army officers. - Special Correspondent
