The High Court has rejected a writ petition that challenged the legitimacy of the interim government following its oath-taking, affirming that the process was carried out with the Supreme Court's permission under Article 106 of the Constitution.

In its ruling, the court stated that the people of Bangladesh have broadly accepted the interim government, effectively rendering any further legal debate over its legitimacy unnecessary.

The verdict was delivered on 13 January by a bench consisting of Justice Fatema Najib and Justice Shikdar Md Mahmudur Raji. The decision marks a significant step in reinforcing the constitutional framework and resolving ongoing legal challenges surrounding the formation of the interim administration.
