Dhaka, Jan 11– A Dhaka court on Sunday acquitted BNP leader Ruhul Kuddus Talukdar Dulu in tax evasion case.

Judge of the Dhaka Special Judge Court-4 Rabiul Alam passed the order.

Dulu, a former central organising secretary of the BNP, was present during the hearing.

Hafiz Al Asad, assistant tax commissioner of National Revenue Board (NBR) filed the case against the BNP leader on August 3, 2008, accusing him of evading Tk10 lakh in income tax against declared earnings of Tk2.34 crore since 1983.

Dulu later filed a petition with the High Court challenging the validity of the case. - UNB
