Aliss Al Islam, popularly known as a mystery spinner, has received his maiden call-up to Bangladesh’s ODI squad for the upcoming tri-nation series in the United Arab Emirates, involving Afghanistan and Zimbabwe.

His inclusion for the first time in an ODI squad was confirmed today when the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced a 16-member squad through a press release. Towhid Hridoy has been named vice-captain for the tournament.

Aliss was included in Bangladesh’s T20 squad for the recently concluded Asian Games cricket event but wasn’t featured in any match.

Bangladesh, however, will begin their tri-series ODI campaign against Zimbabwe in Abu Dhabi on October 17. Afghanistan and Zimbabwe will meet at the same venue on October 19.

Bangladesh will then take on Afghanistan in Sharjah on October 21, before the final takes place at the same venue on October 23.

All matches are scheduled to begin at 3:30 PM, Bangladesh time.

Bangladesh is currently playing a one-off Test against Afghanistan in Abu Dhabi, reports BSS.
