Dhaka, 11 Oct - Australia allrounder Tahlia McGrath showered praise on Sobhana Mostary's fighting century, citing it as 'awesome for game of cricket.'
Despite Sobhana's century, Australia eased past Bangladeshs 220-6 in effortless fashion for nine-wicket victory.
But the facile victory didn't prevent McGrath from heaping praise on Sobhana.
"Awesome for the game of cricket," McGrath said after the match. "The century was pretty special. It was a good innings, and I'm pretty happy for her, to be honest. They showed really good intent today, got us thinking a bit more about our field changes, and it was awesome to see them post a total like that."
Sobhana and skipper Nigar Sultana Joty put on 195 runs for the fourth wicket, which is also the highest partnership for Bangladesh in any wicket against any opponents.
Joty who was not out on 72, witnessed the great inning right from the other end of the wicket.
Citing Sobhana's century as historical and great achievement, she said: "It was really historical and definitely a great achievement for her and for the team as well."
"I batted with her and kept telling her that she had to do it, and I felt like I played my part in that too. I am very happy for her because she is a wonderful player and has been very consistent with the bat for a long time, so I think she kind of deserved it."BSS
