Auckland, 11 Oct - Rachin Ravindra and Mark Chapman were named on Sunday in New Zealand's squad for their home one-day series against India after injury sidelined the batting pair from the preceding Twenty20 clashes.
Coach Rob Walter named an enlarged group of 21 players for five ODI matches in November, which follows five T20s.
Only six will play the entire series, including captain Mitchell Santner, while eight others will be involved in the first three games before leaving to prepare for two Tests against the tourists.
Seven players will then come in for the two final ODIs.
Left-hander Ravindra was ruled out of the T20s after dislocating his shoulder when diving to take a catch during a promotional event last month.
Likewise, Chapman will miss the 20-over matches with a hamstring injury.
Among those joining for the last two ODIs are openers Finn Allen and Tim Seifert and pace bowler Lockie Ferguson.
The trio prioritise playing in professional T20 leagues and have not represented New Zealand in the 50-over format in the last 18 months.
Walter said the ODI series would be a chance for players to push for selection at next year's World Cup.
"We're incredibly lucky to have the depth that we do to have 21 players involved in the series," he said.
"It's also great to bring guys like Lockie, Finn, and Tim back into the one-day unit.
"For Finn and Tim in particular, we've seen what they can do in the T20 arena, and it's now a great opportunity for them to push their case in the longer format."
