DHAKA - Shakib Al Hasan became only second bowler
to claim 100 wickets in Twenty20 International cricket after his
incredible 4-9 in the fifth and final match against Australia at
Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium today.

He achieved the milestone after the Sri Lanka great Lasith Malinga
who ended his career with 107 wickets in 84 matches.

Shakib's 100-wicket haul also came in his 84th match. His
achievement helped Bangladesh seal the five-match series by 4-1 after
60-run victory in the final game.

The ace allrounder started this series with five short of 100
wickets but he was not up to the mark by his standard in the first
four matches. He took three wickets in the first three matches before
seeing his lowest ebb in the T20 cricket in fourth match.

In the match which Bangladesh lost by three wickets, Shakib conceded
50 runs in four overs, his most expensive spell in this format.

But he got back like a king in the fifth match and achieved the feat
for what he was craving for.

His 99th wicket haul was Australian captain Matthew Wade whom he
baffled with a quicker delivery and then he reached the milestone of
100 wickets with the wicket of Ashton Turner.

He then took two more wickets to finish with remarkable figure of
3.4-1-9-4 as Australia were bowled out for their lowest 62 runs in
13.4 overs.BSS
