Netherlands-South Africa T20 World Cup Match

Dhaka, Nov 6 - The Netherlands have shocked South Africa in the teams’ last Super 12s fixture of the ongoing T20 World Cup in Adelaide, winning by 13 runs to turn the next match between Bangladesh and Pakistan into a virtual quarter final.

Whoever wins this game, also to be played at the Adelaide Oval (at 10am BDST), will qualify for the semifinals with India from Group 2. Earlier England and New Zealand qualified from Group 1.

Netherlands beat South Africa for the first time across any format. Put in to bat first, the Dutch posted a respectable 158/4 off their 20 overs, before restricting their opponents to 145/8.

Colin Ackerman was adjudged man of the match for his innings of 41 off 26 balls that helped accelerate the Netherlands’ innings.

South Africa could have ensured qualification with victory, but now end on 5 points. It means whoever wins the game between Bangladesh and Pakistan, who are both on 4 points, will leap over them in the table to 6 points and qualify. - UNB
