Bangladesh U19 begins Sri Lanka tour in disappointing fashion

DHAKA - Bangladesh Under-19 team began their Sri Lanka
tour in disappointing fashion as they conceded a 42-run defeat in the first
game of the five-match one-day series against the hosts U19 team at the
Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium on Friday.

   Opting to bat first, Sri Lanka put up 228-9 in 50 overs allocation with
Pawan Pathiraja making the highest 67.Raveen de Silva was the other notable
scorer with 29.

  Ripon Mondol was the most successful bowler for Bangladesh with 3-59.

  However the Bangladesh batters fared badly as they were bowled out for 186
in 46.2 overs. Only Aich Mollah could make some impact in the match, hitting
86 off 93 with nine fours.

  Sri Lanka's Treveen Mathew wrecked havoc in Bangladesh innings, claiming 4- 29 while Shevon Daniel grabbed 2-21.BSS
