Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan and senior player Mushfiqur Rahim returned to Dhaka Sunday.

Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan and senior player Mushfiqur Rahim returned to Dhaka Sunday after getting a three-day leave from the team management.

Mushfiqur returned to Dhaka to be with his wife as they are expecting their second baby.

According to BCB's cricket operations department, Shakib took the leave on personal grounds.

The whole Bangladesh team in fact was given three-day break and the cricketers used this leave to return to the country for a short trip.

Both the cricketers are expected to join the side ahead of the final Super Four match against India on September 15.

Bangladesh's chance to make it to the final looked very slim following their two consecutive defeats at the Super Four. In the first match, they conceded a seven-wicket defeat to Pakistan before tasting a 21-run defeat to Sri Lanka yesterday.

Their hopes of making it to the final of the tournament now lie entirely on other results going their way coupled with favorable net run-rates.

As Bangladesh had to play four matches in three different cities in just 10 days, there were some niggles and small injuries, which the team management thinks should be addressed.

In those three days, the physio will work with the players carrying the niggles and also they will continue gym and swimming session.
