DhakaOct  - Bangladesh spin bowling coach Rangana Herath stressed upon the requirements of playing their own brand of cricket to deal with England's ultra-aggressive cricket.

The Tigers started the tournament well with a six-wicket win over Afghanistan, leaving behind the off the field issues.
The Dharamsala pitch which was slow and low also assisted Bangladesh spinners and gave them another hope to unsettle the defending champions England, who are bit vulnerable against the quality spin.
But as England showed their batting style sometimes could take the pitch out of the equation, Herath said, the mindset and approach will also be vital.

"Very important is playing our brand of cricket. So, with that approach and with the body language. So, we need to play that same mindset with that same approach. So, if we can play that brand of our cricket, so there's a chance of winning as well as succeeding," Herath said at Dharamsala.

Being brave is one of the ingredients of Bangladesh's own brand of cricket, Herath said, pointing out the side's some technical aspects in the game against Afghanistan.

Bangladesh trusted their ability even when Afghanistan batters were on attack at the outset of the game.

"When it comes to planning, obviously, you have to play your best with your skill and strength. So, in that case, having an extra fielder inside, having some different kind of a field setting. So those are that we are thinking of actually."

Herath, the former Sri Lankan spinner, said one of the main reasons of the success of Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz was their ability to read pitch well against Afghanistan. The duo shared six wickets between them to spark Afghanistan collapse after they got off to a blazing start.

The spin coach wanted the same approach from those two bowlers against England.

"I think I would like to highlight as you said that the spinners did well, so in that case apart from their skills I think they read the pitch very well. So, after that, they bowl well according to those situations. In that case, I'm sure these two spinners will bowl, they will assess the condition first, and they will bowl according to the pitch actually," he added.

Giving the spinners 10 out of 10, Herath also praised Shakib's fielding placement: "To be honest, 10 out of 10 (for the spinners). Because as I said earlier, they read the pitch well. So, then they analysed which line and which length that they needed to bowl. And they had a very attacking field setting as well. So, in that case, I'm 100% happy with how they bowled actually."

When the Bangladesh team was in good shape, the only spot of bother was the form of Liton Das, who averaged only 14 in the last 10 matches. Liton however has been Bangladesh's best batter in the last two years and Herath expected him back in the form as early as possible.

"Everybody can go through a kind of a rough patch. So the only thing is how you can come back strongly. So, I'm sure that Liton will come back very strongly. As you said, always when it comes to batting, we need to have a proper partnership. So that's our main goal. So, get a proper partnership, and once you get that partnership, we need to score big, actually," he said.
