Batter Liton Das was in the middle of a media storm after he requested the security in the team hotel to remove media members and journalists off the premises on Sunday.

On Monday morning, Liton issued an apology to the media.   Liton said in a Facebook post that he had not realised there were so many media personnel waiting in the hotel. The question was put to team director Khaled Mahmud Sujon whether a low media presence would have validated what Liton did. In reply, Mahmud apologised on behalf of the team and the BCB. He hinted that it might be the lack of consistency with the bat that prompted Liton's reaction.

"We are trying to go out together and eat together and do everything together. At the end of the day, the game puts more mental stress than physical stress (on players), especially since runs are not being scored consistently. This is a problem. So, I don't know whether it [his reaction] was due to that. But on behalf of the Bangladesh team and the BCB, we are apologising for the incident. Please accept it positively," Sujon told the reporters today."You can take it positively or negatively. I don't know what the situation was exactly like at that time. I don't see Liton as an arrogant boy. What he told me was, 'Sir, I didn't have a specific reason. I was feeling uneasy which is why I said it.' Maybe what happens is when your team loses, negativity works its way in. They want to remain within themselves," he added.
