BSS makes winning start in DRU Cricket

Dhaka,  21 Nov- BSS got off to a winning start in the Walton-DRU Media Cricket tournament beating the Financial Express by four wickets in a match held at Paltan ground adjoining the Bangabandhu National Stadium in the city on Tuesday.

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, The Financial Express posted a competitive total of 107 from their stipulated six overs and in reply, BSS reached the target losing one wicket with one ball in hand.

Maloy Kumar Dutta, a senior reporter of BSS, who scored an unbeaten 54 runs, was named the player of the match for his impressive batting performance in the match.

In the other matches of the day, Protidiner Bangladesh (132/2) beat The Daily Janakatha (71) by 61 runs, Asian TV (30 for no loss) defeated Sangbad Protidin (29) by six wickets, The Daily Business Standard (106) outplayed DBC News (71) by 35 runs, The Daily Manab Zamin (128/2) thrashed The New Nation (45) by 93 runs and The Daily Star(60 for no loss) posted a six-wicket win over Dhaka Mail (59 for 4).

DRU general secretary Mainul Hasan Sohel, its finance secretary Shakawat Hossain Sumon, office secretary Kawsar Azam and Sports Secretary Mahbububur Rahman, former general secretary of the organization Syed Shukur Ali Shuvo, among others, were present in the prize distribution ceremony.
