Dhaka, 7 Dec -The second T20 International between Bangladesh Women's team and their South African counterpart was washed out due to persistent rain at Kimberly on Wednesday.

Bangladesh was pursuing a first ever series victory against South Africa in any format of cricket and that too on South African soil following its 13-run victory in the first T20.

Shorna Akter claimed five-wicket haul to script the famous victory to help the side lead three-match series 1-0.

However, before the rain arrived, Bangladesh were sent to bat first and they reached 7-1, losing the wicket of Shamima Sultana who made 3.

Murshida Khatun, who scored 62 not out in the last match was batting on 2 with Sobhana Mostary yet open her account.

The series deciding third and final T20 will be held Friday at the same ground.
