Mohammedan earn hard-fought win

Dhaka, 27 March - Mohammedan Sporting Club registered a hard-fought 4-3 goal victory over Bangladesh Police Sporting Club in the second match of Green Delta Insurance Premier Division Hockey League held at Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium on Wednesday.

In the proceeding, Malaysian recruit Faijal Bin Sari scored a brace, while Dwin Islam Emon and Ashraful Alom netted one goal each for the winning side.

While Abdul Malek, Nahid Babu and Indian recruit Gurjeet Singh scored one goal apiece for Police.

The day’s win saw the traditional black and white Motijheel outfit Mohammedan raised their tally to 19 points from seven matches while Bangladesh Police SC remained at their previous credit of 14 points playing nine outings.

Earlier, in the day’s first match, Shakil Hossain scored a brace as Sadharan Bima Corporation secured a comfortable 6-2 goal victory over Azad Sporting Club also held at the same venue.
