Dhaka, 31 July - Shakib Al Hasan finally regained some form with the willow and demonstrated a familiar all-round show as his side Bangla Tigers Mississauga continued its winning spree in Global T20 Canada, beating Toronto Nationals by two runs in a nail-bitter at Brampton yesterday.

Shakib scored 24 off 15 with three sixes as Bangla Tigers put up 168-7 after being asked to bat first. Then, he took 1-30 to help the side restrict Toronto Nationals to 166-7, despite a scintillating 54 ball-74 from Nicholas Pooran.

Along with Shakib, his compatriot Shoriful Islam kept him amongst wickets by
taking 1-31. This was the first time in last seven matches that Shakib reached double

digits with the willow. Even since his eye problem was detected just ahead of the 2023 ODI World Cup, Shakib struggled with the batting. But his bowling form remained okay.

However, David Wiese was the top-scorer for Bangla Tigers with 17 ball-38 not out and also took one wicket for 28 runs to be adjudged man of the match.

Mohmmad Waseem scored 27 while Rahmanullah Gurbaz made 24.Having won the game, Bangla Tigers sealed its second straight victory in three matches and moved up to third place in the point table.
