Dhaka, 9 Aug - The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) extends its heartfelt congratulations to Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan on his appointment as the Adviser of the interim government responsible for the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

"The BCB is confident that Mr Bhuiyan, with his passion and commitment to the advancement of sports, will provide exemplary leadership and vision in his new role," a press release sent by BCB said today.

"His appointment comes at a pivotal time for sports in Bangladesh, and the BCB wishes him every success and looks forward to working together to achieve shared goals for the betterment of cricket in Bangladesh."

Asif Mahmud is one of the key organizers of quota reform protest that later turned into an anti-government movement, which eventually toppled the Sheikh Hasina-led government.
