Dhaka, 14 Sep —The Bangladesh cricketers today got their winning bonus for their historical series victory against Pakistan.

Bangladesh swept the two-match Test series by showing a tremendous performance which earned them Tk. 3.20 crore as winning bonus as per the contract with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan handed the bonus to captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto in a formal progamme at a local hotel in the city.

“This bonus was given to the cricketers as per the contract,” said BCB president Faruque Ahmed. “We’ll always try to hand over their winning bonus as earlier as possible. I think this will inspire the players more.”

Captain Shanto thanked the Sports Adviser for being present at this time. He also gave a bat signed by the cricketers of the Pakistan series squad to the adviser Asif Mahmud as a gift. After that, he said, the cricketers will give a part of the bonus to help the flood victims.
