Dhaka, 4 Nov-The Bangladesh national cricket team kicked off their practice session at Sharjah Cricket Stadium today, gearing up for the three-match ODI series against Afghanistan.
The Bangladesh team reached the United Arab Emirates in two separate groups with the last group reached on Sunday.
However two players-pacer Nahid Rana who was called up in the ODI squad for the first time and Nasum Ahmed who made a comeback to the team after a year hiatus-couldn't leave the country with the last group yesterday due to visa complicacy.
They are yet to obtain the visa, a BCB official informed.
The first match of the series is scheduled to begin on November 6. The last two ODIs are on November 9 and 11.
All of the matches of the series will be held at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
While Afghanistan of late had become a strong contender for the Tigers, Bangladesh still have the edge, winning 10 and losing six in 16 meetings between two teams in ODI format.
With the series, Bangladesh also will start their preparation for the next year's ICC Champions Trophy, which will be held in Pakistan.
After this series, Bangladesh will visit West Indies for a full bilateral
series that includes all three formats of cricket.
