Ifti, Mazid hit fifties to put Barishal on top

Dhaka, 18 Nov - Openers Iftekhar Hossain Ifti and Abdul Mazid hit half-centuries as Barishal Division put them on top over Rangpur Division in their fifth round game of the National Cricket League (NCL) today at Rajshahi Stadium.

Ifti was not out on 60 while Mazid made 54 to help Barishal reach 119-1 and take overall 133 runs lead at stumps on Day 3.

Earlier, Barishal took 14-run run lead in the first innings when Rangpur were wrapped up for 322, after resuming the day at 218-5. Barishal put up 336 before being all out in their first innings.

Abdullah Al Mamun was top-scorer for Rangpur with 65 while Naeem Islam made 40. Ariful Haque scored 38 and Nobin Islam was not out on 30.

Ruyel Mea and Moin Khan grabbed three wickets apiece for Barishal.
