Dhaka, 19 Dec -Bangladesh Women's Under-19 team tasted an eight-

wicket defeat to India in their first match of the Asia Cup Super Four at Kuala Lumpur today.

Put into bat first, the Junior Tigresses, were restricted to paltry 80-8 with no one crossing even 20 runs mark. Opener Mosammat Eva was the top-scorer with 14 while No. 11 batter Habiba Islam made an unbeaten 11. Also they got 11 runs from extras.

Ayushi Shukla of India took three wickets for nine runs to cause havoc on Bangladesh batting line up.

Opener Gongadi Trisha hit an unbeaten 58 off 46 as India reached 86-2 for a comfortable victory. Skipper Niki Prasad who confirmed the victory with a six was not out on 22.

Anisa Akter Shova took two wickets of India that fell.

Bangladesh will take on Nepal in their last match of the Super Four Friday at the same venue.

Earlier in group phase, Bangladesh beat Sri Lanka and Malaysia to confirm Super Four.
