Dhaka, 30 Jan - Bangladesh Women’s team tasted a massive 106-run defeat to West Indies in the second of the three-match T20 series at Basseterre in St Kitts today. 

The Bangladesh’s series defeat to West Indies in this format was also confirmed following this drubbing. They earlier lost the first match by eight wickets.

The 106-run victory is West Indies Women’s team’s largest margin victory in this format against any team, beating 99-run win against Netherlands team. 

Put into bat first, West Indies piled up a mammoth 201-6, thanks to a fifty plus knock from opener Qiana Joseph. But all of their batters plundered the bowlers to make an instant impact.

Qiana Joseph top-scored with 36 ball-63, hitting nine fours and two sixes. Deandra Dottin, continued his rich vein of form with 20 ball-49, a knock laced with three fours and five sixes.

Fahima Khatun scalped 3-38 for Bangladesh while Rabeya Khan took 2-26.
Chasing a massive target, Bangladesh crumbled under pressure to be restricted to 95-9 with Sharmin Akter Supta making the highest 22. Shorna Akter was the other notable contributor with 16.

Cherry-Ann Fraser, Afy Fletcher and Hayley Matthews grabbed two wickets apiece for West Indies.BSS
